I have completed well over half of my degree at a University where I would have graduated with my BSN and sat for my boards. Things became overwhelming for me, I droppped my classes and was unable to return to finish. I have no other nursing degrees. Now I am looking at Excelsior to complete my RN. Is there anyone out there from North Carolina that is working on or has completed their RN this way? Did you have problems sitting for and/or getting your licenses? I would appreciate any information and/or help you can provide!:typing

I live in NC and I have completed all my course work and waiting to take the CPNE. In my eyes thus far it is very doable . There are so many that are living proof on this board. It took me less than 7 months to complete all my nursing test. I test DEC 5-7 and WHEN I pass. I will have completed the whole program in less than a year.Good Luck to you! At this point NC is a very EC friendly state.
Congrats! Good luck to you too.

Hey, sorry to kinda divert for a second, just had a question...I'm a nurse living in mid missouri right now, going thru excelsior. I have extensive family in N.C. however, and was just wondering the standing of Excelsior in that state. Is it good there?

I wouldn't call that starting with nothing! I'll bet your pre-reqs are out of the way! :) You should pay the $75 and apply to EC -- let them evaluate your transcripts and see where you stand. :) Good luck!!
Excelsior is in good standing with NC Board of Nursing, however I would suggest that you try to finish the program as quickly as possible. It appears that several states are following CA in restricting EC grads:MD,GA,VA,what state is next??
Good Luck!
