I am curious, did you ever take the job? If so how is the company? Thanks!

People who graduated before me and got their license who work for them enjoy it. Personally I am not sure if I want to start with home care but if push comes to shove I will. The woman who came to my school told me to give her a call when I get my license. They have openings.

I work for them now (teaneck office) n I don't really have any complaints.. in the beginning its slow to get cases/full 40hr work wk. But once u get going it definitely gets better, especially if ur hrs are flexible n ur always willing to pick up hrs... I think like any agency, the more ur willing to pick up shifts, the more they will call u.. for a good few months straight I was working 48-60hrs a wk... Also, the staff is great. They always stand by their nurses. Which is great because there are some agencies out there that only care about banking hrs even if its bad for nurses mental/physical well being...

I used to work with Starlight Pediatrics Homecare Agency. That agency has no problem hiring nurse without experience, but prepare yourself for really low pay :-( LPNs start 20/hr and RNs start 26/hr. I left them for a higher paying agency called Preferred HomeCare.
I agree with NurseJenny but it does get your foot in the door. Just be prepared to work independently. And just know that you can call 911! don't be afraid and for the most part the families are very helpful. And they always have openings but remember that if your patient ends up in the hospital or on vacation you don't have work and you don't get paid. That was one reason I left homecare.
Mel101418, where are you working now? I'm trying to wean myself off homecare :-/ I feel like I don't reach my nurse skill potential in Homecare.
I work as a research nurse. It's still not bedside nursing but it is a 9-5 job and it is stable. I don't have to worry about my patients going into the hospital or going on vacation and not having work. I had no luck finding a job in a hospital so research is where I ended up.
