Staffing agencies: the good, the bad, what do you think?

Published

I work full time for Advantage Nursing in Columbia, Missouri. I wanted to pick up some extra PRN shifts so I started working for DaVinci Staffing here. Big mistake! I found DaVinci's recruiter to be unavailable by phone or email when I had questions. DaVinci also did not even have any available shifts in the town I live it. The recruiter lied to me and told me they had local assignments but the closest facility they actually had was 45 minutes away. What a waste! Anyway, does anyone have recommendations on a PRN agency in Missouri? I don't want to take more skills tests only to have an unprofessional recruiter. I'm going to go talk to Pulse Staffing tomorrow. Any advice appreciated.

Hi ErnBlz,

I can't comment about other local agencies in Columbia MO but I have worked for pulse medical staffing for the last 10 months as a LPN. Before that I worked for a staffing company out of Springfield MO (wasn't really that good but they gave me a job when I needed one)

Pulse medical staffing, I really enjoy working for them:

no mandatory min shifts/month

no max shifts per pay period (one week I worked 72 hrs and loved the check the next week)

Mileage :uhoh3:

The CEO of the company is a Nurse  and worked as a traveler, he actually cares about his employees.

The scheduler person is a hoot, picking up shifts is very easy all done through email and no stress at all.

Free company jacket/t-shirt

Company cars :woot: so you don't have to drive your own car.

And the best part, you get treated like an adult and the boss man will have your back.

anyways, hope ya become one of the team, btw the Christmas parties are awesome.

All of that is good to know. Thanks for letting me know what your experience was. I am officially now an employee of Pulse but still have a full time job. I'm hoping to pick up weekend shifts soon. My full time job is during the week only.
