Those who have been in a 2 year ADN program how to you think year 1 and year 2 were? I finish my 1st year in May and I was just wondering what to expect in 2nd year. Was 2nd year a lot harder, easier???

I'm not in an ADN program but from my friends the second year dealt with more medical interventions and more complicated cases. So let's say that you weren't allowed to pass meds in 1st year, for most they were allowed to in 2nd year. You go into other specialties like peds and ob in the second year.
That's also the way it works in my BSN program.

I would imagine the second year would be harder in ANY nursing program.

I just graduated in May from an ADN program. I felt like everything came full circle the 2nd year! Kinda like the Ahaa moment when the little light comes on! I wouldn't say it's easier but definitely more tears of joy vs the "I'm so lost" tears. Yes there are more procedures, more disease process that needs to be put together, but there's so much more hands on opportunities!! Good luck to you! You worked hard first year, now put it all together!!
