Hi! Anyone else looking to apply to NCC for the Spring 2019 Nursing Program? I'm so curious and anxious to know if I have enough 'points' to make the cut. How are you guys feeling? How are your points/stats adding up?
Yes! I need to schedule my physcial and i called the nursing dept nd was told the autobiography not to go crazy on it, they just want to know about us.I want the classes that are like 8am or 10am .. does anyone know if we'll be doing hospital rounds in the first semester?
I think we will be doing clinicals in the hospitals that's why it's said "Monday's 7am -2pm HOS"
Hi guys! Congratulations to those who got in :)
I just have a question for the folks who didn't (if you guys still check this thread).
I haven't gotten a rejection letter. It's Friday & they said letters were sent out on Tuesday, I know mail doesn't take THAT long. Weird, but I just want it to be official so I can fully move on you know.
Since I haven't gotten a letter I'm starting to think if my application was ever even considered even though I went to the nursing office & handed it in myself. The thing is I ended up handing it in on like the 2nd to last day by accident because I was incorrectly recalling the application date that the woman in the office told me. Anyway, I'm just wondering if my submission being so close to the deadline affected my consideration
I'm also wondering if they only send letters to the folks who actually met all the requirements, but just didn't get a seat in the program. If that's the case then I might not have met the requirements points, plus my A&P2 expires this December ( I took it back in 2009).

You can call the nursing department and ask. That's what I did and they told me I submitted everything correctly but was just shy of the cutoff. Didn't give me an numbers but checked my name

Yeah I was hesitant to call since other folks have said they got short with them & ended the convo/call abruptly.
I'm looking into other programs such as Suffolk...since NCC might be going into BSN come fall 2019. I don't want a BSN program at this point because of my plans to move out of state. I'm going to a SCC info session on dec 5th. I went to an NCC LPN to RN info session this week & that was a bust. You have to test out of 3 subjects, plus pass a practical, plus take an online course for like 9wks & even THEN you're not guaranteed a seat for the next program. The instructor at that session was very snippy too lol
I went to Suffolk's info session. They basically said Suffolk residents take priority then if they have spots left they will look at residents from other county's. She basically said in the 10 years she's been there she's never seen someone from another area get a seat. I'm not sure if it would differ for LPNs. When I called the nursing department at Nassau the women was helpful. I think now they would probably be more willing to help since people might not be calling in as often
hey guy my question is if I plan to apply fall 2019 for spring 2020 but the application for spring opens in October November and the class I will be taking then will be microbiology. will they accept me even if I haven't finish my micro class yet. or will they wait until I get my grades?

They only accept the classes that are already completed so your Microbiology wouldn't be counted in your points.
