Hello everyone,
I am a nursing student and I gradute in May. I have a dilema though, I just have no idea what specialty to choose. I have applied and interviewed via phone for a internship in a cardiac hospital. I also applied to another internship at the same very large teaching university, which has several areas to choose from (but it is very compettive so chances are low that I will get it ). I feel like if I go into an area such as NICU or L & D (which I liked) I will lose the knowledge and skills I need to work with the larger patient population. I also liked ER, but am scared to do that as a new grad. I hate hate hate med/surg because the pace is just too slow for me and I have gotten sick of seeing the same diagnoses over and over again. I have no idea what to do and welcome any and all suggestions. I will also be making a cross-country move after graduation so that makes this whole process even more stressful. Ok that's enough rambling. I guess my point is how do I know what will be the right "fit" for me. I just feel like nothing is calling me. HELLLLP

Don't be afraid to go into the ER. Most places have a great new grad program and you will be "nursed" along until you are ready to be kicked loose on your own.
