SPC Nursing Requirements

Published

Does anyone know where I would take the Accuplacer Test for admission into the SPC Nursing program? When can I take it, and how long are the resultsbgood for? Do I need to take the whole test or just the reading portion? Thanks in advance.

This is better asked to your school (our school), but there is a testing center (I believe in the AD building) on the Saint Pete/Gibbs campus where I took my reading level test for the program. There are signs around that end of campus that say "testing" with an arrow, alongside other things on the signs that guide you

Here's a link with more information (I googled "SPC accuplacer") Bad Request

Also, it's just the reading portion

Also, also, also, here's a link to the SPC fall 2016 to-be-nursing-student thread

Thanks, I've been calling all this week it tells me they are too busy to answer and to call back later.

That's crazy. Where are you with your prereqs?

I'm in anatomy 2 and ethics now. Taking stats this summer and micro in fall. My wife and I are hoping to get into the program spring 2017. I've been looking at allnurses and asking everybody I know about everything there is to know about getting into the program, lol. I just want to make sure I am fully prepared when my time comes, it seems like spring 2017 is tomorrow. What about you?

I'm in A&P2 and Micro this semester (Applying to be in the program this fall). Micro is a bit much! Way more memorization than I imagined!

If you're planning on finishing your prereqs this fall (fall 2016) and getting into the spring 2017 nursing program, I have some bad news for you. Final grades for fall 2016 are not due to be in the system until 12/9/16. The application window for the spring nursing program is between July 1st and September 15th (2016). So, you're still going to be finishing up your classes while the application window closes. You could always talk to a nursing program adviser about this situation, but to be a competitive applicant you need all 30 credits of the prereq classes to be done (I believe the average accepted applicant has like 29.9 credits done and a 3.8 GPA)(this is of course different for spring as spring is usually easier to get into). It may also be a factor that micro is a 4 credit hour class(es) so, instead of just missing 3 credits you'd be missing 4.

I know. I also know I have a good chance of being an alternate. If I don't make it in im okay with that seeing as how I would have had to wait a semester anyway. So I figure its not going to hurt me to go for it!

Guess not! Good luck!
