Sparrow Hospital Nurse Scholarship

Published

I was wondering if anyone has applied for, currently using or is going to apply for Sparrow Hospital's Nurse Scholarship Program to pay for their final year of school. Hopefully the link below works.

Has anyone worked for or is currently working at Sparrow Hospital? Were your experiences there good, bad? Thanks for the info.

I have never worked for Sparrow but I did volunteer in the ER lat summer and I thought it was a very nice place. Everyone on the staff was nice and they seemed like they were a good group of people. My aunt previously worked at Sparrow Hospital and Ingham Medical Center in Lansing and said she would choose Sparrow any day over Ingham. Hopefully some other people can give you their first hand experiences!

Which nursing school are you in?

Thanks for the input. I am an not currently in nursing school. I will be starting back to school (after a nine year break,) in the fall at LCC to finish my pre-req's. The nursing advisor at LCC actually told me about Sparrow's scholarship and mentioned that Ingham also has a similar program. My DH and I are trying to figure out how to manage the expense of school without student loans. We worked through the FA application but it doesn't look like I would receive much, if any, aid due to my DH's salary. The scholarship seems like a good option. Although it is quite a long commute it would be worth it for a couple of years.:)

I did clinicals at both hospitals, and ended up taking a job at Ingham. You should be able to job shadow at either, contact HR and they can give you the info. Or check Ingham's website at http://www.irmc.org
