Southwestern College ADN 2015

Published

Hi!! Just wanted to start a thread for those that applied for Southwestern College's Fall 2015 ADN Program. I'm so nervous to wait for March/April for the notices to come out. I'm a hit or miss ranking at 75 points. I'm a CNA with my Bachelor's in Health Science emphasis in Public Health from SDSU as well. Anyone else applied as well? Nervous? Hopefully this discussion keeps going =)

I ranked at 75 points. My TEAS was a 77. I guess they're still sending out acceptances, rejections, or more acceptances to those that declined their spot.

If I'm right I got 70 for the ADN prog.

JC88...you are accepted with the 70 for sure? Thats great news if thats the case. I just called them... they said they won't send out results until June for the lvn to adn?! First they said mid march...then they said mid april...now they say june...cmon seriously?!

yes, but I think it depends on who's applying. They take the most qualified out of all the applicants (highest points).

They told me the average cutoff was 75 points and above. Maybe this year the applicant pool didn't have a high average. I'm just glad I got accepted at 75 points thinking I needed 80 or more

Well I heard from the Nursing Department that I have an alternate position. Sigh...im pretty bummed, but slightly hopeful at the same time. Hope I get in somehow. Does anyone know how many alternate slots there are...just a rough estimate would even be helpful. This whole alternate thing is not what I was hoping for.

Who's excited for orientation tomorrow? I can't wait :) Feels so long since we got our admissions and now the next steps are happening.

For those who attended orientation and know about the complio package/uploading our immunization forms, did anyone get a notice from the nursing department that uploading our immunizations is no longer needed? A student I met at orientation e-mailed me stating that ---------------------- confirmed that over the phone after purchasing her complio package. I am going to e-mail the nursing dept. to confirm just to be safe. I would like to know if anyone else got that notification too...?

I did not receive any notification. To be safe I'm completing everything on the package

Hey KickRox, LVN, by any chance were you able to get a position in the ADN Program? I just turned in my packet at the beginning of November and have 72 points :/ Kind of wanted to see what my chances were for the 2016 cohort... Thanks.

What are the pros and cons for those that finished or still in the program .Thanks

Hi guys. I am a CNA and will be applying for the program for Fall 2017. Do CNA's have good chances of getting in? Plus, I have an A in everything except for psychology and microbiology(more likely) :(
