Hey everyone, I'm new to the boards. I was wondering what anyone could tell me about Southwest Tennessee Community College's nursing program. Any pro's, con's, their experience, etc.? Thanks!

I haven't attended SWTCC for nursing classes, but I have heard that Northwest Mississippi's program is better.
Both are highly sought out. Check out the Tenn Board of Nursing website for official pass rates, if that is what you need.
Hope this helps.

I just finished the nursing program at STCC. It was rough, but then again everyone seems to feel that way about their nursing school experience. There is a lot about the program that seemed like a self learn experience. The resources are there, but you need to use them. (computer lab, notes, web sites, etc.) I relied heavily on family and friends for notes and study sessions. It all turned out ok in the end, but I am so very happy to have the whole thing behind me.
Ack! Well I just moved back to Memphis on somewhat short notice, so Southwest was the easiet school to get into quickly. I'll just be doing pre-reqs this semester, so I'll definitely be feeling around campus for more info/opinions. Thanks for the info!

I am in nursing school at Southwest. I agree that it is very rough and a great portion is self taught, however I have heard this from friends at other local schools as well.
My advice is to:
1. study harder than ever before.
2. Avoid the negative people.
3.BE ORGANIZED!
Best of Luck
