I am doing very well with my exams but the past few nights, I have been losing sleep over the thought of the CPNE! I know a few of you are taking it in May so I guess that might help put my mind at ease (or make me freak out). I read good and bad stories and I don't know these people. Although I don't know those taking it in the next few months, I know their names on here so that helps haha. I seriously think I might go to my doctors for a prescription for my nerves as I finish up the exams!

cpne is a mind game. it's not difficult. you have to have the mindset of a brand new graduate rn. you have to act like you don't know anything more than what they tell you you should know. don't do anything out of instinct. i will forward you some information.

Dutchgirl is right, it is all in your head. I take my CPNE on Friday. I also work at the test site. Am I still nervous? YES! Is it worth it, yes. Even if for some reason I fail first time that is ok because I'll know what to expect next time. You have a ways to go before the CPNE so start getting some skill practice for it now, but don't sweat it. If you take your time and start preparing now, by the time your date comes you'll be ready. Think positive.

Me too! So much so that today I just bought EC's recommended Clinical Nursing skills book, for $80. We'll be just fine though. I have noticed that if I listen to a positive song, that I love on the way to the test, it helps, plan on do the same for the CPNE.

I'm where you are.... I am waiting on my date:uhoh21:
I bought those critical elements flashcards and go through them EVERY night. I also bought the skill bag and I bit the bullet and am doing the workshop in Columbus in May. Just remember that the resources are there to help you. Just believe in yourself Good Luck with everything!

Hang in there!!! I know where you are coming from, the anxiety is tough to control, but put on blinders and just go in like you have already passed!!! I take mine in six-weeks:chair: and I have nightmares every night!! But I will PASS and so will YOU!!
I passed my CPNE this weekend.:yeah:And I thought I'd :typing to let you know that the worst part was my own internal stress. I posted on another thread titled I just passed my CPNE what I used for my 20 minute checks. I don't know if it will help you but it is what I did. Stay focused!!! I used hand washing to de-stress and refocus. The CE's loved it. They were very formal when you start your PCS and during but afterwards they are super nice.:wink2: Biggest problem I had was getting my hand to stop shaking and trying to play it cool. I kept my cool by not taking anything for granted. Such as even though I passed all my labs and first 2 PCS on first try, I didn't let myself get over-confident on last PCS! CPNE is very stressful, especially when you consider all the time and money, but, try to focus on your patient and care you'd give as a nurse more. I know, hard to do. I was calm, cool, and collected until I got there. I was very confident in my nursing abilities, until I got there and we started. Be prepared. It's worth it in the end. Good luck!:)
awesome !!! that is wonderful, i am so happy for you. congrats "gn". the nclex should be a cake walk compared to everything you had to do to get to this point. can't wait to see rn behind your name:clpty::grad::dncgbby:
