Yup. That's what I was just told. Imagine that!!
I applied for a scholarship that you had to be in a science related field or math or engineering, or teaching. Got a letter back saying I did not qualify!
Funny, if I go on to get my Bachelors it WOULD BE A BSN- Bachelors of SCIENCE!! Hello!!
Never mind that I have taken EVERY science course offered at this school!
I think I am going to shoot off a letter to the committee and let them know, yes, nursing is a science!! I wonder where they were educated!

That is crazy - not a science.

I'd fight it, especially because there could be some money in it for you.
Have you thought about trying to get a letter from the director of the nsg program to explain that nursing is a Science based program? Even if its already too late for you to be considered for the scholarship, maybe someone behind you will benefit from being included for scholarship.

Totally agree with all of the above...
Of course, it's a science. And an art. Makes you wonder what the committee believes nursing to be...
I hope you fight this.

Oh, boy.
I think that nursing is a discipline that uses the sciences but is not, in and of itself, "a" science.

I wonder if you are referring to the new Federal grant program for some science majors. If so - it's not that nursing isn't a science; it is that nursing isn't a science with a shortage of students. Nursing shortage, yes. Shortage of nursing students, NO.

Yes. It seems more like a social science or a service profession that uses biological and chemical science.
Is this the program you are talking about?
