Specializes in Neuro/Med-Surg.

Just curious about going rates in Florida - I have heard everywhere from $19 to $23 an hour. Just curious! :)

Specializes in ICU.

I graduated one year ago with a BSN and started working in Pinellas County at 22.25. I am now at 25.33.

Most new grads in South Florida are not able to find a job. Nonetheless, starting salaries here are about $22.50/hr.

Specializes in CVICU.

University of Miami Hospital is paying its new grad RN 25.32 an hour. You sign a 2 year contract and they tell you they have great collection people that will come for you to pay back every cent if you leave before your 2 years are up. Oh, they also gave 7500 dollar sign on bonus that they will not come after you for.

It used to be Cedars Hospital and theres plenty of issues they are trying to work out to get the hospital up to snuff and frankly I doubt the hospital is for everyone but the new grad pay is good.

Both Jackson and Baptist have frozen their new grad programs so UMH is the only one that hired this last round. I heard the few folks that snuck into the Baptist new grad RN program are making 24 and change.

Specializes in Peds Hem, Onc, Med/Surg.

Jacksonville Florida lowest new grad pay is $19.25 but its really hard to find a job now.

I've still got a ways to go since I'm just in my first semester and won't even be testing for my license until January of 2011 but anyone know about Flagler rates?
