Snow days are killing me.

Snow days being added onto the end of my school year are slowly closing my window of "set-up" time for Camp.

I live in an area that goes a big longer into June than most of the country, so I typically work my last school day and arrive at camp 2-3 days "late" compared to other "Head Staff", but that still gives me 5-6 days of set-up, prep, and staff bonding.

This year the snow days have pushed into a following week, so I going to be 2 weekend days late on-top of it unless I can be granted magical approved PTO on the last 1-2 days of school. My set up is currently looking like 2-3 days. Yikes.

(I'm at a 2ish month residential camp, I NEED those days)

It's only February and I'm already worried. Fingers crossed for no more snow days!

I feel you!!!

Last year, school overlapped all of the first week of camp (with campers!) and part of the second week. Luckily, I can commute from camp to school so we only had to find an RN to cover days when I was at school. But I was SO ready to be done with school, and be in full time camp mode.

Right now we are on track to end school on our scheduled day, which is June 15. We have 3 snow days built into our schedule, which we have already used up. Students made up another snow day on a teacher workshop day. I live in New England though, so we are going to have at least one or two more snow days (probably more).

Last year, the graduating class of '17 had to come back to school AFTER the graduation ceremony because they did not have enough seat days to graduate.

Yikes!!

I was supposed to be done the 13th...Currently going til the 19th unless they have secret built-in days or decide to go into spring break or an in-service between now and then. (Fingers crossed!)

Campers arrive the 21st, and I drive 300 miles to get to camp, so at this rate I'm going to be arrive within 48 hrs...

Yikes.
