SN Social Visit? (AND a blood draw?!?)

Posted
by Carolcares Carolcares (New) New

Anyone out there ever hear of an HHA having a nurse do a "social visit" every two weeks and while there, performing a blood draw (non-Medicare billable if no skilled services provided)?

Thanks for whatever responses you may provide.

No. But have encountered a form of "companionship" visits by CNA/HHA for certain hospice patients.

Courtesy or pro bono visits are a practice done in cooperation with providers sharing some of the burden in cases that fall between any benefits or options.

Never heard them called social visits though.

In these situations, do you have consent forms signed or just do the courtesy visits?

Yes, marked no charge. And we perform a brief/basic assessment.
