I'm moving to the Mt. Vernon area this fall/winter and I am planning to apply to the spring start ADN program at Skagit Valley, but I do not have a CNA. Will this hurt my chances of getting in? I did email the nursing program to ask but they didn't give me much information- just that you can start accumulating points once you have 50 volunteer hours. Does anyone know how the points tally works as far as the volunteer hours portion goes or how many hours I will need to be competitive in that section? Thanks for your time!

Your best bet would to be getting your CNA. You'll get 8 more points than allotted with volunteer hours. I don't think anyone who received entry into the program this year was without a CNA.
