I am going to start LPN classes in June and and wondering since there is such a shortage of nurses, how are the grants? Also, I am a single mom. Will I get more grants towards my student loans? I know I will find all of this out next week when I go to the school and talk to an advisor but I am just curious in the meantime. Thanks!!

sorry, i don't know much about the grants single mom's get but i do know i recieved my award letter and the pell grant went up considerably and for the first time i got the seog grant and also if you don't already know about the WIA grant i would check into that it helps with childcare, gas, tution and supplies but it varies state to state. i hope this helps you a little and good luck with classes!

Not sure about a "single mom grant," but I do know there are public monies available for single mother's with children going back to school, such as reduced/free housing, child care assistance, and pell grants. Your best bet is to meet with the financial aid and student services office at your school.
