single mom lpn needs info

:balloons:Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and hope everyone is doing great. I am a new grad in Fl and waiting to take my NCLEX. Due to circumstances beyond my control my application has to be reviewed which will be on June 9 then i will find out when I can sit. I want to move to Ga at the end of the year after I do my 500 hrs here in FL and get endorced in Ga. I was just wondering if anyone could give me an actual wage for nursing homes and home care and enlighten me to the actual duties and LPN does in the hospitals there as well as the wage. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I am planning this move with me and my 3 kids and really want to make sure that it would be the best thing to do for us right now. Thank you again.:monkeydance:

Hi, I am in TN, but read the GA forums because GA border is 10 minutes away. I am not sure about wages in GA, but I know in TN the nursing homes pay LPN around 15.00 per hour, hospital around 11.00 per hour. Generally speaking, they pay more in GA than here in TN. You may want to try getting a subscription to the Atlanta Journal Constitution and browse the classifieds to get some more pay scale info. Sorry I couldn't be of more help with the clinical info you needed. Some of the hospital websites will have a summary of duties required for current openings, that may give you some idea of what is expected. Good luck with your move.
