Hi there! I'm new to allnurses. I was wondering if anyone in the Student Nurse Practitioner forum is either currently enrolled at Simmons or is anyone out there waiting to get in? I applied last week for the September 2016 Cohort, and just received notice yesterday that my application has been sent in for faculty review. Anyone else sitting on pins and needles like me! LOL! Thanks for any feeback *Sorry if this topic has already been covered

Hi!
I am accepted into the March 2016 cohort. I'm nervous but so excited! I was notified of my acceptance exactly a week after my application went to faculty. However, my admissions counselor did say that the applications for the cohorts starting earlier in the year would be reviewed first, so im not sure of the turn around time for the September cohort. They had told me 2-4 weeks until I would hear a decision. Good luck to you and let us know when you hear back!

I just was accepted to the March cohort today! Super exciting! I'm not sure I can afford the tuition though so I may not be able to go. Do you have to take a bridge class?
So happy for you! That is awesome. And I know, it is so expensive.. However, I got into Georgetown too so compared to that tuition Simmons seems reasonable. I figure the online program will allow me to continue working full time and that makes up for the cost. I don't have to take the bridge course. Did you look into their payment plan?
Congratulations acba1031!!!:) I know you are super excited!! Did they notify you by email or did they call you? I've read some post where applicants say they were called. Also I know Simmons and Georgetown have the same format, do you know if Simmons has the same decisions/pay deposit link on your application page as Georgetown after you apply? Please come back and let us know how things are going for you, I'm anxious to know! I am hoping to find out something soon, I will post their decision as soon as I find out, until then I guess I will check my email every 5 seconds! LOL
Congratulations to you as well! Have you checked into the HRSA nurse scholarship? It opens up on March 1st, I think? It pays your tuition and expenses, as well as it gives you a small monthly stipend. Here's the link: NURSE Corps Scholarship Program
Congrats again! Let us know how its going
The admission counselor I had been working with actually called me to tell me, and then they sent me an email with the info. And as far as I know there is no online portal to check.. Which was actually better for me because I obsessively checked the Georgetown one! í ½í¸‚ I was attached to my phone for a week. Let us know when you hear from them!!
How funny, I applied to Georgetown too! I'm still waiting to hear from them though. But you're right, the price difference between the two is huge! My official transcript was mailed to them right as that huge snowstorm hit so I'm expecting a delay. My admissions counselor called me to tell me too! She said after she called that she would send me an email confirming. I haven't received the official email yet because they had to review the syllabi for my physical assessment courses. She said it's possible I might have to do the assessment refresher because it's been 7 years, so once she finds out I'll get the email and be able to look into the payment plans! That's exciting they offer payment plans, actually! I'm on a waitlist for Frontier, which is my #1 choice, so I have some thinking to do. :/
Well I just got word that I will need to do a refresher course! They sent my email, but I didn't see anything about a payment plan. Would you mind telling me a little about it?
Oh and I have looked at HRSA! I will probably apply but I know its pretty competitive and I'm not sure I'd be able to move to work in one of their approved places if necessary. My husband's job is pretty difficult to move.
I found info on their website about the payment plan.. It's for if you have a leftover balance after using loans, you can stetch it out over up to 10 months instead of having to come up with the money for each term.

Hi there,
I am an applicant at Simmons as well! Trying to get in for the May 2016 cohort. I'm still waiting for my RN-BSN NP clinical instructor to send in her letter of recommendation. I'm on pins and needles as well! I've also applied to another local college as not to put all my eggs in one basket:). I do hope to get into Simmons though, they have such a great program! Where are you from?
