Simmons ABSN Dix Scholar Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone! I just submitted my application for Simmons fall 2019 start for the ABSN program. I would love to hear about everyone's backgrounds!

Hi!

Thank you for starting this thread! I just submitted my application as well and am excited to hear everyone's background and experiences as we go through this nerve wracking process together. I have around a 3.6 for prerequisites and a 3.7 for cummulative. I have worked in a health care setting for the past 3 years and scored a 90% on the TEAS. (although it's not required, I added it in any chance that they might consider it). Do you have any idea when they will be notifying us regarding admission.

hi! I also have around a 3.6 for prereqs, and a 3.6 for overall GPA. I've worked at a major hospital in Boston for the past year, and serve as VP for an honor society currently. I'm finishing up my undergrad in psychology with a minor in biology next semester! Admissions told me if you apply by the 12/14 priority deadline, you will hear back by mid-February at the latest. I got my TCE via email today, however their website states accepted/waitlisted students receive the TCE after their decision is made, so I am wondering if that is still the case for this year.

Have you heard anything back yet?

I'm assuming letters are going out really but haven't heard anything from the school.

Hi everyone! I was accepted last semester and have been working on my prereqs, just statistics left now :) Good luck to everyone applying!

My application status is listed as decision mailed!

I just received mine today and was accepted!

Do you live near the Boston area?

No I live in California. It took about a week to get here from the time that the website said it had been mailed.

I also got accepted! Is anyone definitely going here?

Not sure. I was also accepted to MGH so trying to weigh the pros and cons of each school.

Do you know where you will be going?

Hi All! I was accepted for last Fall and deferred my start to be in this cohort. I also got in to a few other programs, but chose this one d/t the excellent communication at every step with the admissions team and recommendations from other people I know that have gotten nursing degrees (both undergrad and grad). I'm 36, already have a degree from UMass in psychology/neuroscience focus, and have been working in oncology at a Boston hospital for the past 5 years. My biggest fear is being unemployed during these 16 months! LOL I've never not had at least 1 job while going to school before. I'm looking forward to the challenge of nursing school! :-)
