I live in Long Island, NY & was going to start a LPN program. Is it worth it?? I want to be a RN but unfortunately I cannot get into any schools.

At one point I was thinking about going into an LPN program. The only reason I did not go was because I had gotten accepted into a partime evening RN program, which works better for me. I do not think it is a bad idea considering the time you will have to wait to get accepted into an RN program. I think once you get your license, you will be able to start an RN program with less waiting. Good luck to you. If I were, I would go for it.

I'm starting LPN school in a couple of weeks. I plan on bridging to the RN program after I've completed my LPN. I still have 2 prereq's to do to be accepted into the RN program. I feel as though after my LPN classes, I can work and take the 2 classes I need to bridge to the RN.
I am so nervous about beginning these classes. I've heard of so many horror stories about nursing school.
Thank you for the support in doing this. I am just worried I will not find a Job.

I am currently working as an LPN (my first job; been working 8 weeks) I plan to go on to Excelsior immediately. Being new to the field, I am very grateful for the nursing experience I am getting and I think it will help a lot in my RN studies and once I become an RN. I am gaining nursing skills. Also, I'm overcoming my fears and building confidence in myself as a nurse, and in my abilities to learn new skills and deal with any and all nursing situations.
