I graduate in December and I'm applying for a few new grad nurse residencies, but I have found that there are alot of openings in my desired specialty (Womens services). However, these listings are under "RN II" and require at least 2 years of Nursing experience. Should I apply anyway?

My first instinct is no, but I guess the worst that could happen is you wouldn't get a call.

I would if I were you. Some organizations may get their panties in a wad over it, but others don't mind and may actually really be in need of help. The worst they can say is no.

You are not qualified- why would you do that?

My job was listed as RN II and I was a new grad.
Yes. You never know what you will get. My job was listed as RN II and I still was hired as a brand new grad. My job still lists me as RN II. Sometimes thsee things are just arbitrary

Personally I would not. Unqualified applicants are ignored in the best case scenario, and potentially listed as "Do Not Hire" in the worst case scenario. Some facilities do "get their panties in a wad" over a seeming inability to follow instructions.
I found out after acceptance to nursing school that the initial weed-out of applicants was an automatic tossing of those who did not abide by the instruction to write a one-paragraph essay. Two paragraphs? You're out!
Um, because I need a job??
Thanks for the responses you guys. I'm getting alot of mixed advice, but I'm taking heed to it all. A huge part of me is wanting to take the chance.

Good Point.........
I was not trying to be snarky. It would be like me applying for a job that requires two years progressive management experience. I don't have it- so why would I apply?
You sure have received mixed messages! Good luck in your job hunt.
