Shoes for nursing students

Published

Hello, so I'll be studying at Edith Cowan University in Australia and I would like to ask what kind of shoes do nursing students wear when they are doing their practical or clinical placement.

Also, I am thinking of buying the sketcher Go walk. Is this shoes okay.

Thank you

Check your school's dress code for clinicals to make sure any shoes you select will meet the school's requirements. Best wishes!

Sketcher Gos are comfy if they're an acceptable shoe for your program!

I am required to wear solid white non-slips with a toe and a heel - so I just purchased NurseMates. They are super cute but not quite as comfy as my Abeo. My abeo are solid black (and don't come in white). I really prefer the abeo. Tried Danskos and literally gave them away - all $150 of them just handed over to a friend I hated them so bad. Just make sure you 1) know whats required and 2) wear them prior to school. Breaking in shoes sucks - I wait tables and it takes me about 2 months to break in shoes. I wear them for an hour at a time here and there - so whatever shoes you buy - start wearing them with thick socks to begin with to get a head start on any blisters you might receive while breaking them in. Never try to go from zero to 12 hours in new shoes - its certain foot death.
