Sheri Taylors CPNE workshop

I was wondering how far in advance have you scheduled and took a hands on workshop? I'm looking to take the September FCCA both parts during the 8 week period and interested in taking Sheri's workshop in Atlanta. However with a baby due in November and needing to complete the program, I was thinking of taking the workshop September 14-16, that way I will be done the FCCA in October, apply for CPNE, and continue with the online workshop from home until my date. I didn't want to have to take our newborn to atlanta, so I figured that would give me time to get in a hands on class a few months b4 the CPNE. I do have experience in the hospital, med surg and telemetry, but have heard that even with that, it's suggested to take the workshop. Heard that from our unit director who went EC route years ago, and a newly EC RN that has been in the hospital for 4 years now.... So just wanted some advice. I do have lots of support from my husband, and our families with helping out with our children so this is not the first rodeo for us having a little one and studying and attending the workshop or CPNE is very doable for us. Thanks!!

I took her online workshop first for a few months and then went the one in person 3 weeks before my CPNE. She does give a great discount for the online workshop at her one in person so money wise more beneficial to attend the workshop and then do online workshop. Either way is fine I think - there were people there without dates schedule and people there testing in a week!!

Either way just make sure you go - I have been a LPN for 35 years working everything from ER, Med Surg, Trachs & Vents to LTC but would never have passed the CPNE without taking her workshop!!!

Thank you so much for the the advice/tips! I will attend the workshop first in September, then finish with her online ( glad to hear about the discount, that will sure come in handy). Congrats on finishing up with excelsior, great accomplishment! I can not wait to get to the end!!
