I am looking for some advice. A year ago I took a full-time management position. I made a mistake taking a position that was full-time. I have made a proposal to my employer to make this position a shared nurse management position. They are very willing and open to looking at this proposal. They are asking that I remain the Director and the position they would hire would be a assistant director. They are asking from me to show them what I think this would look like. How would the scheduling work, how would we share responsibilities. They would like the Director to take a leadership role-remaining the go-to position for the physicians, keeping a place on the hospital leadership team, etc. The assistant director could take responsibilities of scheduling, some QI projects, etc. I am looking for any insight from anybody who has worked as a manager this way or has worked under managers this way. Does anyone have any insight on this topic.
Thank You!!
