Shadowing AFTER accepting a position?

I've interviewed and accepted a GN position at my first choice hospital back in January. I was so pleased to be offered the unit I wanted that I didn't even ask about shadowing! School is over next week but my start date isn't for a few weeks. I would love to shadow for a few hours just to get a feel for the floor and have a bit of familiarity before I actually start.

Would this seem too weird?

Many thanks!

Nope, not at all - it would give you some heads up to the workings of the unit and get you familiar with the flow of things.

Why don't you go ahead and ask if you can shadow? Can't hurt, the worst that could happen is that they say no and I don't think they will. Good luck with your new job. Hope you enjoy your workplace!
