As the title states.

My question is how long before you stopped working/had the surgery ? When you couldn't bear weight anymore, couldn't take the pain anymore?Couldn't perform your job anymore?

Thanks

I've had knee problems since my 40s. I held off on getting anything done, figuring my arthroscopic surgery would delay the time of doing a TKR by a few years at least. I didn't want to do it until I was at least 60 because they don't always last a lifetime. Now I'm almost 61 and I'm STILL not ready for it. It's a painful surgery and I just don't want to do it if I'm not in agony every time I walk more than a few yards. Heck, I don't even take Tylenol every day. I know the day is coming, but until it comes to the point where I can't handle the pain, I'm going to continue to hold off. I stopped working bedside when it got to be too much for my joints and spine. I'm glad I did, or I probably wouldn't have lasted this long without having the left knee replaced.
