My 20-something clinic pt had open wounds through epidermis between each toe. One wound even extending a good cm onto plantar surface. I encouraged the provider to prescribe diflucan. I wove cutimed ribbon between toes, then wrapped toes with gauze. I also used a trace of cutimed gel on top of ribbon to help hold the ribbon to the wound bed though not wanting to add any moisture. (Hard to describe & very hard to position.) Has anyone else cared for this type of wound?

This sounds like ulcerative tinea pedis. We have had several patients that required some unconventional treatments, such as betadine swabs and 4x4's between the toes (yes, understand betadine is cytotoxic to fibroblasts, etc). They had to apply the betadine as much as three times daily and tuck the gauze between the toes as you had described with the cutimed.

How long did it take to heal?

Some as quickly as a couple of weeks of only partial thickness with good patient adherence to dressing changes. If full thickness or poor adherence, some 4-6 weeks. We continued the betadine swabbing between the toes after healing also.
