Seton RN residency February 2016

Published

I'm starting the new grad RN residency at Seton Main in Austin on... Monday. Anyone else? It seems like the structure of the residency changes every year so I thought I'd start a current thread!

Me too! See you this Monday :)

I'm applying for the July 2016 cohort, any suggestions on my application? Or anything in general related to the program? Thanks!

Would any of you mind sharing what the starting rate is for Setons Nurse Residency Program? I graduate in 3 months and I'm looking to apply. Thank you :)

I'm not sure what it is this year, I want to say last year my friend and I both started around $23.70/hr base pay (there is a $4/hr night differential if you end up on nights). It's gone up a bit this year, by like a dollar an hour, based on some cost sharing thing or something where they realized we were supposed to be paid a little more. I'd ask for what you think you're worth tho, I regret not negotiating a bit because once you're in it gets harder to negotiate your salary up if you're starting off low.

Hey thanks so much for responding. Its so hard to find these things out! Do you know of people that negotiated and got more? 23.70 is low.. I make more than that as a LVN now, but I don't have a lot of experience under my belt as a LVN at the bedside. I pretty much went straight into the bridge program after I took my LVN boards.

How did you like the program? Did you get the location you wanted? Any advice on the Interview process? Do you feel they really look at your GPA? Were you licensed before you started the program? if not, did you get a boost in pay once you received it? Sorry for all the questions. lol
