Hi,
Has anyone graduated from Seton Hall acclerated nursing degree or second degree program in NJ.
Is anyone going to the accelerated program or second degree program at Seton Hall University. Is a C considered failing in the school? I see that what is needed for admittance is just C's in all the prerequisites which leads me to believe a C would be passing when a person is in the program.
What is the program like? Clinicals?, Professors?
I am looking to attend but I am not sure because it is expensive but I think I will go if a C is passing. I met some people in my lab group in Chemistry who both went to a school in NYC and received a 73.4 and a 74.5 and they failed the class even thought they passed the clinicals. Its almost like the difference between getting one answer right on a test.
Thanks everyone and have a nice weekend! :redbeathe

The ABSN is only available at Georgian Court in So. Jersey. At the So Orange campus they have the 2 year BSN program and the MSN CNL program. A C is considered passing however you cannot get more than 2 C's as you need to maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Clinicals are factored into your grade depending on how the professor wants to do it. Some just have you do the bare minimum whereas others give you some additional work with it. It really just depends.
Personally I like the school a lot. There are issues, like in any school, but the staff actually wants you to do well. When you are in a second degree program they are more apt to working with you because they know you have made a conscious decision that this is the career that you want.
Good Luck

Hi I also go waitlisted for the accelerated program ...I called them yesterday I was told they received about 350 applicants for 30 seats and 80 applicants are on the waiting list.
What number did you call? I am going to call today
I double majored. cell biology and neuroscience 3.4 and psychology 4.0. I also got an A's in Organic 1 and 2, A+P 1 and 2, Bio 1+2, Systems Phys, Neuro Bio, Pharmacology etc. I got B's in Physic 1+2 and Advanced Neuro. When I found out I was wait listed I was dumbfounded. I thought I was over qualified. For the people who called Shu, did they tell you your waitlisted rank? If there are 80 people on that list , the chances of slim of getting in. I seriously didn't think nursing school was this fierce to get into.
I got my letter May 5th
732 987 2289... I was told they will start calling people from the waiting list by june 1. Because the dealine for those who got accepted to secure seat and send in deposit is at the end of this month. The lady I spoke to told me they did not rank the people on the waiting list yet. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed hoping that I get in.
If I find out anything. I'll post it here. This is nerve wrecking. lol
