We were given a few guidelines, the format desired, number of references needed, and instructed to write on a topic/area of nursing care that has changed since we've been out of practice (referring to inactive nurses re-entering work force).
I understand the format to be used but I'm stuck..I was going to possibly write about diabetic care i.e. changing injection sites/using same site.
Are there any online guides on how to write such a paper? When I was back in school we just did care plans:nuke:

Evidence based guideline sites:
- Johanna Briggs Institute: http://www.joannabriggs.edu.au/about/home.php
- Cochrane library: http://www.cochrane.org/
I would:
1. Decide on my topic
2. Find half the required article from the period you were practising nursing (can limit PubMed/Ovid search by year to find articles).
3. Find the other half of articles from the period since you stopped nursing.
4. Write a summary of the literature evidence (then and now).
5. Compare and contrast.
6. Explain how strong the evidence is.
7. Conclude.
Of course, it depends on the format your teacher wants.
