Hi all,
First of, I really like allnurses, I've found so many insightful posts. I'm just feeling anxious right now and thought I would post my situation to get some advice. I graduated from a fairly good undergraduate public school in California, however, my gpa was less than stellar 2.8. I did well on the courses I took at community colleges (the prereqs) but still I'm so unsure of what to do next. Last year I applied to a few schools, mostly out of state, I was waitlisted at one, denied from 2. I worked to make the other parts of my application as good as possible, now I feel I've used up my good letter of req, etc ..but now I'm sitting here wanting to apply again. This time I think I will apply for an accelerated bsn just because I would like more options of specialties when I do go to my masters. Does anyone know any schools that I would have a chance to get into?? I'm just ready to get on with my life I would greatly appreciate if anyone knows of any schools in California or ANYWHERE else really where I can apply as soon as possible maybe for spring 2012..??? I would appreaciate any suggestions since I am doing my research too and have ruled out Samuel merritt any others??? please help...

Hi
Here is a full list of ABSN programs all over the country. I would suggest you try the ones you may be interested in: http://www.bestnursingdegree.com/programs/accelerated-bsn/
However, most require your first degree be a minimum of 3.0, with that said, also look into ADN/ASN programs. Don't count those out because when you have graduated and gotten some experience as an RN, you can do a bridge program RN-MSN. I thought I've seen on here that the ADN/ASN programs in Cali have a long wait list, so please try outside of your state. Don't give up and I wish you the best.
