SCSU vs Metropolitan State

Published

Which school do you think has the better reputation, better nursing program/faculty/education?

I am currently dually enrolled at Metropolitan state, but TBH even with growing up in MN, I had never even heard of Metro state until I applied to ARCC's MANE program. I know nothing about it until now, and now hear very mixed reviews.

Would it be better to do the RN-to-BSN portion at SCSU - is it a better school? I will be done with my two-year RN at ARCC soon.

I can't speak to which school is better but I can say I have known a lot of new grad SCSU RN's who have been hired at St. Cloud Hospital very quickly after graduating and passing their NCLEX. I know in the area the program is well regarded. Their RN-BSN program is brand new this semester. If you have a few prospective future employers in mind, try giving them and a call and tell them you are deciding between schools and see if they have any input. Good luck and best wishes to you!

I'm also dually enrolled at NHCC and Metro state, but have been considering SCSU as well. I actually wasn't even sure that I could go there in the MANE program. For awhile I thought Metro was the only option.

I also haven't heard much about either program. So I poked around a little bit and it looks like Metro is rated higher (and safer) than SCSU. It's actually in the top 10 nursing programs for Minnesota.
