I had to buy my CNA uniform today and I tried on a bunch of different sizes but I know that I may have a different preference when I start actually working. Do you prefer your uniforms to be snug or baggy and why? TIA!

Pants have to fit on tightly, prefferably not tied... Though this could just be my preference because I work memory care unit and people dig through pockets and play with ties I dont want to lose my pants.
I like my tops a little baggy so I can move in them and have lots of pocket space.

My scrub preference changes daily. Keep in mind what you are doing. Are your patients grabby, then go snug. Do you carry everything in your pockets, then go loose. I'm big on top and tend to wear something snugger so there's no chance I'll show more then a under shirt.:imbar After awhile you'll get a feel for what you want/need. Good luck!

If I have ona long sleeved shirt it has to be a little snug. I don't feel like getting my sleeves caught on things. The rest of my clothes fit a little loosely.

Yikes, this kinda scares me! Is there really a chance that my pants could come off? LOL. Good thing I'm carrying a little more junk in the trunk than average so hopefully my behind will break the fall of my pants! I thought I was safe with the drawstring ties!

Because I do hospital float, I wear hospital issued scrubs, which I have to say are anything less than desirable. The good thing is they do the laundry. They tend to run a little baggy, have no pockets in the front besides a chest pocket. I perfer the scrub tops with the two front pockets, as I need to carry all kinds of pens, hi-liters, sharpies, bandage scissors, hospital issued pager, white out pen, the load goes on... and gets heavier by the end of shift. You can't have as much fun with the hospital issued scrubs because they come in three colors, faded navy, faded ceil blue and Misty Green. I envy the aides that get to wear actual scrubs, camoflauge scrub shirts, and other designs. BTW, I always wear a long sleeve shirt, like a mock turtle neck, under my scrub top to avoid and drafts.. Hope this helps
This is just the type of unit I work on. I have confused residents going through my pockets, grabbing at my pants, and I'm afraid one day they'll go for a tie and since tied pants are so loose before you tie them... there go my pants.
Though the tie pants that have the elastic in the back are really nice and lots of pockets are ALWAYS a plus.

My original shirt was a smock that was extremely loose. I had a resident accidentally grab my boob while trying to help me move her. Pretty painful, so i suggest something tighter around the chest and looser at the bottom if at all possible.
:lol2:
i went to sit a resident up in bed and she kind of flailed and her entire hand ended up right in my cleavage... whoops. I've started wearing tanktops/long sleeved t-shirts under certain scrub tops.
Well, looks like I have lots to look forward too. The classes I take at school require us all to wear the same uniform, white snap/button top --short sleeves and navy pants. They don't allow us to wear long sleeves and we're only allowed to wear long sleeve shirts underneath if we're in class but not during clinicals. I'm afraid my snaps will come off hehe, but I'm glad you guys took the time to respond because I will definately be wearing a tank underneath...granted, I live in Las Vegas so don't know how long wearing a tank top underneath is going to be an option for when the temperature starts heading into the hundreds. We're below freezing now so THANK GOODNESS, the stripping can stay out of the facilities and on the men's club.

too loose or too tight isn't comfortable for me..of course i am not built like a 20 year old so i tend to dress for comfort
as for the pants with a tie i always buy some elastic and run it through the band and that helps sorta like wearning suspenders AND a belt
