Hi, I work in stroke unit, and recently they mentioned stroke certified registered nurse exam, do you all take exam? is it hard? how does it help with your stroke patient care? anyway we have yearly continue education about stroke patients, I don't see why we need extra exams.

Has anyone (who works with stroke patients) taken this test? Has it helped you better care for patients (in addition to better understanding pathophysiology and care)?

My department/manager feels like the Neuroscience Specialty Exam is a better choice so I plan to take that. The nurses I work with that have taken either (and some have taken both) do tell me that it improves their understanding of the pathophysiology but otherwise it doesn't change much.
