The college that I will be applying for nursing school to requires that 3 of the 5 required science courses be completed at time of application. The courses are: general biology, general chemistry, a&p I, a&p II, and micro. When I apply I will only have completed Bio, Chem, and A&P I along with about 75% of the other required preqs. My advisor told me that the science courses are one of the most important aspects of a nursing school application. Do you think the my application won't be as competitive since 4 or more of my required sciences will not be completed.

I think it varies from school to school. All schools will look favorably upon all pre-requisites being completed at the time of applications. For students who have a couple of the pre-reqs left it is much better for that to be Ethics or something like that and not Anatomy and Physiology II or Micro or Chemistry. I would say that your application will not be as competitive as an applicant who has completed all of their science pre-requisites, that does not mean you have no chance of getting in though.

Unless there's some other factor you haven't mentioned, you may as well apply now. If you don't get in the first time, you're no worse off than you would have been if you'd waited to apply until after all the prerequisites were done, and you never know - you could get in first try.
