Towson University (TU) is a public institution located on a 329-acre campus in Towson, Maryland. Founded in 1866 as Maryland's first training school for teachers, it has since grown into one of the state's largest public universities, with over 20,000 students across eight colleges. Mode of Learning
The Associate-to-Bachelor's (ATB) Nursing Dual Enrollment program is an entry-level, accelerated pathway that allows students to earn both an ADN from a partner community college and a BSN from Towson University simultaneously.
The basic/pre-licensure nursing major is for students without a previous nursing degree or with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing. The curriculum includes courses in liberal arts, sciences, and nursing, offered in Towson, MD, and Hagerstown, MD.
The RN to B.S. option builds on previous learning and offers nursing courses to enhance professional nursing practice. The program is available at three locations: Towson University's main campus, TU in Northeastern Maryland (TUNE) campus, and the University of Maryland System Hagerstown (USMH) center.
The MSN program requires 73 units completed over five terms, including a Summer term, with a focus on evidence-based practice, population health, and quality and safety. The program offers extensive clinical experience through partnerships with healthcare facilities across Maryland, including at least six clinical rotations and a 6-credit practicum, enhanced by a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
Students without a nursing degree can enroll in the ELMS program to earn an MSN and become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN® upon graduation.

Admissions at Towson
Prospective students should apply to both the university and the nursing program by their respective deadlines to start the nursing major. With small class sizes, early enrollment as an undergraduate is recommended.
