    My Experience

I am currently a senior in the college at Emory. However, I have been taking all of my nursing pre-req's in the school of nursing here at Emory in hopes to go to an ABSN program after graduating with my Neuroscience degree. I can not attest to what it is like being a nursing student however I am VERY disappointed with the professors and classes I have been in so far.

    About The Staff

Each staff member I have come into contact with seems like they literally have no idea what they are talking about. My Human Growth and Development class was an absolute joke. The professor was useless and pulled everything from online, read from each slide, and couldn't answer a single question without looking it up herself.
My A&P I lab professor is completely unorganized and every single email has significant grammer/spelling errors that make the email unreadable.
My A&P professor herself is more organized and overall kinda knows what she's talking about. However, some topics she completely just doesn't understand and has taught us wrong...I have taken Organic chem I and II and she has taught us wrong information about this topic...
Overall, very bad experience with professors. Erros I believe are unacceptable for professors at such an elite university. I will not be applying to Emory for my ABSN.

    My Experience

I went to nursing school many years ago at Emory University. The best thing about it was the focus on critical thinking skills and the basic sciences. We had the same professors as the medical students and were exposed to a challenging curriculum. Back in the day, the experience end of it was a little lacking and I came out of school without a lot of hands on practice, but I knew how to find answers and how to problem solve.

    About The Staff

Since I graduated so long ago, I'm afraid that I can't comment on the current staff. At the time, the professors were inspirational.

    Things To Know

I am still happily working as a nurse--currently parish nurse and hospice nurse--with a variety of experiences in several fields of nursing. Grateful to Emory for a good, solid start.
