    My Experience

SHSU has been a roller coaster experience. It has been difficult learning material effectively as well as keeping up with their standards. The school itself is decent. I have had to teach myself material and try to reinforce everything on my own. Rules and expectations are not clearly defined and students are often left wondering what we need to do for certain assignments or clinical days. I graduate in December, and while I have made great friends and have learned a lot, I often wonder what my life would be like if I had chosen a different nursing program instead. I don't feel like we are catered enough towards success, and I consider this school a weed out school- unfortunately. The nursing building is nice though and promotes a positive study environment.

    About The Staff

Some of the staff is very friendly and want nothing more than for you to succeed. Majority of the staff at SHSU are not though. They are rude and do not care about helping students at all- they get enjoyment out of seeing those fail and are very willing to write you up over a tiny problem instead of fixing things. Don't expect to get help if you ask questions- you'll be told to read the book or have your character questioned as to if you even study the material. Tuition here is amazing and has been cost effective.
