Kindergartner allegedly ate "a plant" outside during recess. When asked how she felt she said "sad."

I've had 2 different teachers send kids to me for SNEEZING in class.

I had a parent ask me to read her child's TB test because the doctor's office told her it needed to be read EXACTLY at the 48 hour point and since I was a nurse, it wasn't a big deal.

If you're comfortable, you can. If not, you can decline. Because....you have no doctor's orders! YAY NURSING! I can and will because I used to be a TB nurse but then....I've never had to read a positive on a school-aged kiddo.

Today, a teacher sent a kid with a stuffy nose (not even drippy...) and dark circles under his eyes (who was not complaining, btw) because two other students were absent due to illness.

2nd grader: My armpit is itchy

me: Do you think you might have a bug bite or something?

2nd: No, but I was carrying mulch with my armpits for a game at recess, maybe that's why...

A parapro who was unframiliar with one of my biggest frequent flyers brought him to my office with complaints of a headache. She proceeded to tell me that it was necessary for me to see him because she was concerned he may start bleeding from his brain.

Yesterday....first grader sent to me because "my arm gets sore when I use my pencil".

Last week, I wasn't on campus and a little girl asked the secretary for a bandaid for her headache. The secretary obliged, and her headache was relieved instantly. I'm trying this with my next headache ;)

This happened to me yesterday....teacher sent a note with student that says, "He's sneezing". I took temp, checked him out, had him blow his nose, sent student back. I never heard him sneeze. He looked great, and I didn't call the parent. I ended up having to call mother at end of day due to an immunization issue and found out that the teacher had called her about the little boys sneezing.
