Had a girl that got sent to met today because she had gum on her shoe....:bored::blink:

What have you guys gotten so far?

"Another kid sat on my head and farted". I wish I could say I am joking but.......

And the chief complaint was not head pain, but rather "my nose burns now".

"My head hurts because my braids are too tight"

I got that one on the first day as well.

True story. My hair use to be braided too tight as a kid I feel for her lol

"The teacher told me to come to you because I had a bad dream last night."

I had a parent ask me to read her child's TB test because the doctor's office told her it needed to be read EXACTLY at the 48 hour point and since I was a nurse, it wasn't a big deal.

Did you send a bill for a co-pay?

I just had a student who didn't want to be in class. He kept trying to find any excuse that why he shouldn't be in class. He's in 2nd grade btw. Background: Child tells me there's a bully in class with the blue backpack and that he punched him in the stomach yesterday. Which is weird because ANY injury is sent straight to me, so I'm pretty sure this did not happen. His story keeps changing, here's some highlights:

- Kid punched me at school

- Same kid punched me at home

-I need medicine to take home

- Brother punched me at home

- Little brother punched me at home

- Little brother is 18 yrs old

- I don't know any English (telling me in English)

- Stomach hurts

- Brain doesn't want to work

- Hands doesn't want to work

I spoke with mom, basically he's nervous. New school, new friends.

All I could do is just watch him change his story and send him back to class.

A teacher once asked me to talk to a 12 year old student about masturbating in class. Uh, definitely NOT a medical issue.

oh. my. goodness.

I don't even know how I would respond.

My top two so far:

The dreaded insertion of an earring that fell out (i seriously don't understand why so many of my teachers are scared to put it back in)

"Can you sew her hem back up for picture day?" #1 No one is going to see the hem of her dress in the picture, #2 WHY is the nurse the person you think of for something like this?!

Teacher sent an 11-year-old to get his nails trimmed.

The second one makes sense... It leaves some questions, but a valid visit to the health office :)

This happened last year. A 2nd grader came really upset, sobbing saying that he had seen "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" the night before and couldn't get one scene out of his head and it was gross and scary. But he couldn't even tell me what part because every time he tried to talk about it he would lose it again, LOL. To this day I still do not know what part he was thinking about in that movie. He is definitely a strange kid.
