....to know the thought process behind suddenly not vaccinating your children, after they've received everything except their 7th grade immunizations (one of which is a booster to a vaccine that has already been received). It seems to me to be a little....late in the game (??) for lack of a better phrase.

Got a response to an email I sent to a parent with a hard deadline to present vaccination records: "Hi Ms. Keeper, we no longer believe in vaccinations...."

I'm legitimately curious to know "why now?"...

Just an FYI, I'm not bashing anti-vaxxers. I'm fully capable of accepting others with opposing views on vaccines. Just a little confused on the sudden change....just so ya know

My experience has been that one of the parents is on a new relationship and this is what the new/other parent did (or did not do ) with their kids.

Y'know I questioned this myself too. But I never really ask more than I need to or you bring out the... Anti-Vaxxers. *Scary music* I just say, your kid, your decision, I just need the paperwork so the po-po won't come at my door.

You know, this was my initial thought as well as I know that's a common reason, but I really don't think that applies to this particular situation. I could be totally wrong though! I'm fully aware that the "why" really isn't any of my business

Same! It's definitely not a question I will ever ask in this kind of situation. But I'd love to hear other points of view. I know everyone sees things from different angles and many are ones I'd never even thought of! My husband and I are very much a great example of this! We think things through and assess situations very differently from each other (escape rooms are soooo much fun with each other! We almost always get out!) so when we explain why we did what we did to the other, we're usually like "oooohhh, I see why you did it that way, now. I looked at it totally different!"

But you still wonder why... I'm the same. I want to know the T.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. I feel the same way. It's just some people get so defensive about their stance, because it starts debates. Like political or abortion stances. And it's like, all I wanted to know is why? I'm a curious child!

I asked a parent once, and they started to get super defensive and it's like, I just wanted to know why? So since then, I don't really question parents, I just do what I need to do.

I had the same situation in my school but with a K student who never got her MMR-V or DTaP at the four year visit. Mom said the same thing "We no longer believe in vaccines". Um, OK...
