Good morning!

My Christmas break begins on December 18th and I cannot wait!! I return back to school on January 2nd. That and the gender reveal party (I'm 5 months pregnant) that I'm throwing on Saturday is what is going to get me through this work week.

When do you guys/gals go on break? What do you do during the break to occupy your days? Started this job back in September and it is my first school nurse position so I haven't had the luxury of getting two weeks off paid and it not be PTO because I was going on vacation lol

:)

I am jealous of all of you whose break starts at the end of this week. I have a 1/2 day on the 21st and come back 1/2, which is a professional day at least.

But the students are ready. I have seen 25 students today before 10 AM (out of 500 total!). it is going to be a long 8.5 school days here...

Dec. 22 is our last day and back on Jan. 2

Seems short to me! BUT I am sure we will have some snow days in January!

LOL

Me too and I think tomorrow maybe a day off!

Not soon enough LOL

Our first day off is 12/21 and we are back on 1/4.

We will celebrate with house-hopping on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Tons of food, presents, and laughs! Then, we will spend several nights out of town with my husband's basketball team for a tournament! Never a dull moment!

1/2 day on the 22 and back on Jan 2. I'll take it.

Good morning!

Our office will be off starting the 21st. Some employees will get the rest of the year off, but I probably won't be that lucky!

Will be spending time with family and enjoying the down time. Merry Christmas guys

Congrats on the baby!!

We have a 1/2 day on the 21st and then we are off till the 3rd. Which everyone here says is VERY short. The staff and our school board are at odds over days off, they took away fall break this year saying that we would get longer for the holiday breaks, but everyone says it's shorter. And they sent out next years calendar and it was mass panic.

BUT as a nurse, this is my first holiday break. I've always worked Thanksgiving and Christmas, so this is the first time I get to celebrate the holiday on the actual day!

Specializes in ICU/community health/school nursing.

My 12 year old son very likely has the flu as of this morning, so I am worrying about us all getting sick this week/weekend. I am taking him in to get swabbed this afternoon.

We celebrate Hanukkah also which starts tomorrow. I thankfully got all those gifts wrapped over the weekend.

Sorry the boy is sick! Hope it's not the flu....

You wrap your Hanukkah presents??? I put my kid's present in the same gift bag every night (take the bag after it's emptied and reuse.) I think the last time I got Hanukkah wrapping paper was 2008...

EIGHT SLEEPS! We're off until January 8, and the kids come back the 9th. But we started early.

This Friday (Dec 15) Is our last day! We come back on January 2. I've just got to make it 4.5 more days!

10 DAYS, BABY!! I cannot wait.

Wait... You get paid? I get a couple holidays, that's all. I'm hourly. :(

Yes, mine are all paid but I'm salary maybe that's why.

Dec. 22 is our last day and back on Jan. 2

Seems short to me! BUT I am sure we will have some snow days in January!

LOL

Definitely looking forward to snow days!! :)

Super exciting about the baby. Do you have any idea what it is? What are you planning to do for the reveal?

We get out on 12/19 and my own kids get out 12/22 so I have those few extra days to finish up what I need to. We go back on 1/2.

I am just trying to make it until then- I have my father's memorial service this Saturday and am flying out Friday for that. My 12 year old son very likely has the flu as of this morning, so I am worrying about us all getting sick this week/weekend. I am taking him in to get swabbed this afternoon. Both of my kids are staying with friends this weekend when my husband and I fly down to VA so worried what we will do with them if they are still sick. I guess I need to let that go as there is nothing I can do right now.

We celebrate Hanukkah also which starts tomorrow. I thankfully got all those gifts wrapped over the weekend. The ONLY not so bad thing about my son being sick is that he had a super late basketball game tonight until 9 pm which he now can't play in so now my night is free ;)

Anyway, I will breathe a bog sigh of relief when the 19th rolls around.

Yes! I'm so excited! We are throwing a gender reveal party on Saturday. Invited about 20 people and will reveal the sex of the baby within the party by popping a big black balloon with blue or pink confetti inside. No I have no clue, we all find out together. I have my anatomy scan tonight and I plan on having them write the results and place it into an envelope. I want to be surprised along with everyone else.

Sounds like you will be plenty occupied throughout the break. Sorry for your loss!

I hope your son feels better soon. Yes, the 19th is right around the corner.
