Hello,
This is my first time to open a discussion here at all nurses forum. I would like to hear from anyone regarding the difference of a school nurse from a school health professional in Hong Kong.
I recently moved here in Hong Kong since my husband moved for work. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines. I experienced working as a pediatric nurse and was blessed to be promoted as a quality analyst for performance improvement of nurses.
I understand the difference between working as a nurse in Hong Kong from working in my home country. Having said that, I applied for jobs that are mostly in line with the medical field but does not require me a nursing license. In my job hunting, I tried applying for a school nurse / school health professional in one of the international schools and they were quick to respond. One of the requirement is to have a nursing license registered in Hong Kong but they also accept applicants without a license. I also noticed that school nurse responsibilities is similar to that of a school health professional.
My concern is, what is their difference? What are the legal implications if in case a non registered nurse in Hong Kong works as a school health professional if he or she has the same responsibilities to that of a school nurse? Am I legally allowed to work as a school health professional?
Thank you!
