In the semester we did psych we had a number of foreign students who were there to do that class only. I thought the state was supposed to direct you to schools for remediation? If not, call around to local community colleges and ask the nursing office how you can take that section only.

I'm in the same problem, i received a letter from the board yesterday, telling me that I need that class to be able to get a license.
Apgar10. Were did you attend to college?
The board didn't give me direct schools for remediation.
Thank you
And if I know something I let you know Offlemits
I go to Cerritos College in Norwalk, CA.

HI! I have the same problem. Browsed for a couple of schools online, but it seems that all of em ran out of slots already... they say i have to wait for the next semester which is january... awwww, too much time wasted. Hmm, May I know if any of you guys are from AUF? let's help each other.. this issue is stressing me out. it's like the batch '11 has taken all the bad luck. :'(
Thank you Apgar10 I call today and I'm going tomorrow to check it out, and yes, they accept me but, I have to take nursing 26 and nursing 215 and the classes start Thursday, so the lady told me that I have to go in this days and enroll. Taking 2 classes is better than nothing, so I think i will work for me. If you want to check it out offleemits and eatd

Do they only offer Nsg 26 and 215 only on the Fall or do they have them in the Spring as well? How about Psych nursing? Thanks
Psychosocial and Community Nursing (N230) is offered the first 9 weeks of the Spring and Fall semesters. Some foreign trained or non-California trained nurses need Maternal-Child Nursing (N222) which is offered the second 9 weeks of the Spring and Fall semesters.
I'm pretty sure than N26 and N215 are offered in Spring and Fall too. There are skills lab classes in the summer too (N47/N48) that are helpful.
Thanks for the reply, i was actually reading the course catalog and registration today; i was shocked by the amount and price of the books. I guess I'll have another year of nursing school fun! Nsg 230 has concurrent community nursing too? What fun! Can Nsg 26 and 215 be taken together?
N230 has alternating lectures in psych and community health. The clinical rotation is 2 days in a community setting (1 "week") and 6 weeks in an acute care psychiatric setting. I don't see why you couldn't do 26/215 together because they aren't on the same day/time.
You can rent the books from the bookstore and you can apply for financial aid. The Board of Governor's fee waiver pays for your credits and registration fees. Lab (clinical) fee is about $100 per term (not covered).
Nice! Really appreciate the info. I was deciding whether to apply for Cerritos or Grossmont. Grossmont doesn't have the two prereqs but the program has two psychiatric nursing courses, PSYCHIATRIC-MENTAL HEALTH nursing (3 units) and NEUROLOGIC & PSYCHIATRIC Nursing (5 units), a total of 8 units--I may as well be a psychiatrist going through all that education. Cerritos just seems more cost-effective.
