Scared Student facing Clinicals!

Published

Hi...I am brand new to this site. I am taking a test tomorrow that helps determine my entrance into clinicals. I am beginning to get discouraged, and scared honestly, that I am not going to make through clinicals. Over 60% of the students in first and second level at my school are failing. I am sure that this website has tons of very proud, successful nurses that made it through the trials of school. Did you ever feel like quitting? I have a good GPA, and have always been a good student, but I am at a new school now and their teaching methods are very vague and the teachers are unhelpful. I am confused and dont know what to do. More and more kids are doing poorly and I am afraid to continue for fear of failure and wasting time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yeah!! Every dang day of Nursing School and clincals! Put your ego and emotions aside, and make it clear to your Clincial Instructor---I'm here to learn.

My hardest CI made most of her students stress out or cry. I always treated her with respect, kept my thoughts to myself, and asked questions. She was perfectly willing to teach me, as long as I kept to business. :wink2:

The very best of luck to you!
