Santa Ana nursing fall 2020

Published

Hi all hopeful Nursing students!!!

I'm applying to SAC nursing program fall 2020.

Im taking micro bio at IVC this fall 2019.

Hello everyone,

I’m not sure where else to ask this question since I’m relatively new to the site but I just wanted to ask the students who have been accepted and attended the program how y’all like it so far. How are the profs ? How’s the pace of the program? Do you enjoy the program overall? How did you prepare ? I’m still waiting on two other ADN programs but I’m not too sure if I’ll get in since it’s lottery based so I may end up at SAC (which is not bad tbh) but ya I just wanted to know how your experiences have been so far. Thank you in advance!

Hi momacutay,

Second semester seemed a lot more organized than first but it seems to be because of how limited clinicals were due to COVID. A lot of times you feel like your teaching yourself. But it may be because of how much material there is to intake. I would say most of the professors are overall nice and supportive. It’s so competitive out there I honestly would go anywhere accepted. And if I had to retake nursing school I’d be OK with going to SAC again. You can’t really prepare for nursing school. You’ll know what I mean when you get there ?. Just be prepared to learn the information and be able to apply it. It’s not just memorization.

Thank you very much for your response! I was accepted into SAC after being an alternate for about a month. I just got an email from LACC stating that I'm an alternate as well. I live in LA and I initially wanted to go to LACC (it's literally a mile away from me), but I made a spreadsheet stating the pros and cons of both schools but I'm still torn so I'm asking folks from both programs what their experiences are like. Although it's going to be a drive to get from LA to SAC, I wouldn't mind if I had very supportive professors. My other qualm is that LACC took so long to decide and I just want to get started with all the paperwork and physical forms and stuff that's why I'm sort of leaning towards SAC because I already know what they want LOL

I submitted both my HESI (86) and TEAS (80.7) score with my application. I believe it states that you can use HESI score, but, be sure you took all the subjects that the program requires.

What sections of the sciences did you take for HESI A2?

SAC accept HESI score. I submitted HESI and accepted in the program last year. They don't provide conversion chart to the students, but I remember that my HESI score (82) was given 10 point or so.

What science sections did you do for the HESI A2?
