Which major military/DoD hospitals have SANE programs currently? And who is looking to start a program in the next 6-12 months?

There are programs Army-wide already, and there is a MEDCOM-level training course. At my (not so major) Army hospital, we have a very robust SAFE program (we're called sexual assault forensic examiners because we're not all nurses - there are a couple of PAs who do it as well).
Why do you ask?

I am. :) Are you near a military hospital?
Not real close, prob San Antonio would be the closest military Hosp to me ... Not far from Cannon AFB is close but don't know if they have a Hosp. Do you know if the military uses civilian SANE nurses for contract work? Any info, direction you could give me would be soooo very appreciated ... My email is [email protected].
I doubt it - MEDCOM has its own course and a plentiful supply of military nurses for whom SANE is often an extra duty (i.e., it costs nothing to use them). You would have to contact the particular facility to find out for sure.

Hello and yes there are civilian nurses who work in the GS system and are SANEs.
Typically they are full-time in the GS workforce, as far as I have seen in networking with SANEs at various posts. It's not typically contracted out.
