Hello fellow new grads!
I was wondering which of you accepted a position for the upcoming San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH)'s New Grad RN Versant Program this coming February 2016. I'd love to meet you all! Please post which nursing unit you have accepted a position in. I can't wait! Thanks!

Hi apatiag7, congratulations! I plan on applying in a couple months because I graduate in May 2016. Would you be so kind to give me a brief overview of the process? Were you able to pick/state your preference for which unit(s) you'd want to be on? Did it take a long time for the hospital to get back to you once you submitted your application? Also how many rounds of interviews were there? What unit are you beginning your residency in and what do you feel like helped you land it! Thanks in advance! Congratulations again :)

One accepted in mid Dec, one in early Jan and the program begins in Feb?
Are there not many new grads applying because of the location?
btw, what's an "average" pay for those in the program. Congrats! and Thanks guys.
Thank you! I got an interview about 2 weeks after I turned in my application. I was given the preferencenter to pick the unit. I told them that I was open to anything but preferred med surg and I got a med surg position. I had 1 interview with 3 nurse managers. I think they focused more on situational questions and past experiences. Good luck!

Thanks for the info...if you don't mind, are they open to ADNs? or they prefer BSNs?
I am actually not sure. But the salary would range 30-35.
Thanks, I appreciate it. No online application, guess I'll give them a call sometimes this week.

Hey, just found out that they require a 3-yr commitment....that's one year too many for my taste, and they don't have Psych facility.
Well, good luck to you.
Hey Kayng! I also accepted a position for med-surg so Ill be seeing you soon!
2mint - yeah 3 years is a bit long. i heard you can buy out of the contract which is prorated based on how many hours/how long you worked for them.

Cool. That's something worth looking into. Thanks.
