San Jacinto College ADN Fall 2009

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone. Im wondering if any of you are planning on applying to San Jac ADN program or are in the program?

Lets talk about it here

Bed making! Woohoo!

I just want to get away from these darned orientations and start doing actual classwork. Boring me for 3 hours is just...dangerous : D

Wow, so I'm taking a break (a nice, long, extended break hehe) to see how everybody else is faring with the proverbial tidal wave of studying/workbooks.

I'm currently at Ch. 3 with the Assessment one, and Ch. 2 with the Math one. The math book takes me back to my tech math class. Forgot how much I liked doing simple math. The assessment book is also helping me tremendously with the utterly boring chapters from the book, so I can't complain.

I'll probably finish up the assessment one later tonight and try to get to 4 with math. Hopefully : )

Don't study TOO hard guys!

*Edit*

Aww, just got that e-mail from Miss ******. I really liked having 2 classes start at 12. Oh well, if it's more convenient then it's more convenient. Gotta' reschedule my blood donation now : D

Specializes in Oncall Hospice RN.

Yea!!! To be honest, I really like having morning classes because I can't study in the morning for fear of falling back to sleep.

Thanks for reminding me about Math for Meds. I need to go back and complete "all" the items, not just the ones I found interesting.

Back to studying....

Make sure you show your work on the applicable problems. Though I'm going to clarify tomorrow because some of the problems tell you to use a calculator. Not sure how to show work on that : )

Hi, I'm new to this site, and just trying to get the hang of it. I'm really glad I joined! I had a question about the APA paper due in Fundamentals. Are the topics for the paper based on the independent study chapters or do we pick any topic we want?

They will have a list for us to choose from on the blackboard site. I haven't checked recently so I don't know if it's up yet or not.

*Edit* Because I'm feeling extremely generous (and also because I needed to pick a topic as well), here are the topics you can choose from:

Community Nursing and Care continuity; home care; nursing informatics; promoting health in elders; sensory perception; self concept; sexuality; spirituality, sleep.

I'm totally picking sexuality. I think I can write a semi-decent paper on that.

ok, so once we choose a topic, are we supposed to find it in our textbook somewhere? no matter what chapter it is?

also, when we find an article somewhere about the topic-- do we just print out the entire article to show it tuesday to get it approved?

That's my understanding of it. All I'm going to do to get it approved is verbally tell my instructor, and show them an article to make sure it's kosher with what they want.

and i'm guessing all these topics are somewhere in our book..

there aren't going to be any topics that AREN'T in our book, correct?

and we're limited to citing just once out of our book?

Should be. Not sure why they wouldn't be.

Not sure about the citing though. Didn't think they said.

how do you like your fundamentals teacher?

He's awesome. He practically made the 3 hours go by in a hurry. Really glad I got assigned to him.
